Position: National Retail Channel Development Manager

Pay: $135k/yr. + 20% annual bonus!

Location: Remote - must visit the Houston office at least a 2-3 times a month.

The role of a National Retail Channel Development Manager involves establishing and maintaining strong relationships with dealers, expanding the dealer network, and ensuring the network's growth aligns with the company's sales and distribution objectives.


Here are some key responsibilities associated with this role:

  • Dealer Network Strategy: Developing a comprehensive dealer network strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals and objectives. This includes identifying target markets, evaluating market potential, and determining the ideal number and location of dealers to achieve maximum market coverage.
  • Dealer Recruitment: Identifying potential dealers and evaluating their suitability to represent the company's products or services. This involves conducting market research, competitor analysis, and due diligence on potential dealers. Developing and implementing recruitment plans and processes to attract and select qualified candidates.
  • Dealer Onboarding and Training: Developing dealer onboarding programs to ensure new dealers have a thorough understanding of the company's products, services, policies, and procedures. Providing training and support to dealers, including product knowledge, sales techniques, and business processes.
  • Dealer Performance Management: Monitoring the performance of dealers and implementing performance measurement systems to evaluate their effectiveness. Providing ongoing support and guidance to dealers to help them achieve their sales targets. Identifying underperforming dealers and implementing corrective actions or termination when necessary.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with dealers through regular communication, training sessions, and dealer meetings. Acting as a point of contact for dealers, addressing their concerns, resolving conflicts, and providing support and guidance to ensure a positive and productive partnership.
  • Market Analysis and Expansion: Conducting market analysis and identifying opportunities for expanding the dealer network in new geographic areas or market segments. Assessing market demand, competitor presence, and profitability potential to determine the viability of expanding the network. Developing business cases and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiating dealer agreements, contracts, and terms of engagement. Ensuring that contracts are aligned with the company's policies, legal requirements, and business objectives. Collaborating with legal and finance teams to finalize and execute contracts.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the dealer network. Preparing regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting dealer performance, market trends, and providing recommendations for improvement.
