The North American Travel and Expense Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and execution of innovative management strategies related to travel and expenses. Ensures the highest level of employee satisfaction while maintaining internal controls, adherence to policies, and cost containment with respect to corporate travel and business expense reimbursement by being the primary liaison with our outsourced corporate travel provider.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop, implement, and manage all travel related vendor relationships and programs such as travel agency, air, hotel, car rental, corporate credit card and other travel related services s ensuring their compliance to service level agreements and North American travel related policies.

  • Design and oversee the travel procurement process to improve customer satisfaction while increasing controls, reducing costs and aligning with industry best practices.

  • Lead the management and oversight of the North American Business Expense Reimbursement, Corporate Credit Card, and Travel Policies.

  • Develop, analyze and recommend key internal metrics for travel management practices, trends and results.

  • Manage third party service providers, travel booking tools, expense reporting system, card service providers, and third party sourcing.

  • Develop actionable management and exception reporting.

  • Manage the Corporate Lodging Consultants (CLC) program as well as transaction reporting.

  • Standardize and simplify all travel, card services, business expense and meeting processes and systems focusing on improving efficiency, enhancing controls, and increasing value.

  • Network with industry professionals and benchmark data to stay abreast of changes in the travel and card services arena.

  • Resolve issues in accordance with the company's travel policies

  • Interviews, hires, train, and retain staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

  • 5+ Years corporate travel or travel industry experience required.

  • 5+ Years supervisory experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Knowledge of corporate travel and travel industry.

  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence senior management through effective communication and persuasive positioning.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results.

  • Able to investigate and problem solve.

  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and integrity of data.

  • Able to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Able to adapt to various forms of technology.

  • Self-starter, requiring little guidance or supervision.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities and commitments.
