Job Description

Visa's Corporate Affairs Team is seeking a seasoned Senior Director for the role of People Business Partner. This position serves a crucial role in crafting and harmonizing talent strategies with the business strategy, ensuring the organization possesses the requisite talent, culture, and leadership to effectively achieve business objectives.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted and strategic partner for the Corporate Affairs leadership, including Government Engagement, Corporate Communications, Social Impact & Sustainability, Corporate Services, and Enterprise Transformation, collaborating closely with them to enhance both business and people performance. This role carries global responsibility and has 1 direct report and 1 matrixed report.

Reporting to the SVP, People Business Partner Global Markets and Corporate Functions this position works in close coordination with PBP counterparts and Centers of Excellence for effective planning and delivery of the functions' s Talent Strategy, people programs, and services to the business.

The ideal candidate will possess functional expertise, a business-oriented and innovative mindset, and will be considered an expert on people and organizational matters. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment that is in a constant state of evolution and change, demonstrating a preference for strategy setting along with robust implementation to drive business and functional outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a strategic partner to senior leaders on all people issues, providing guidance and translating people and organizational needs into implementable actions that support business goals.
  • Coach senior leaders and teams, shaping the organization's leadership and developing leadership styles and strategies that are in sync with Visa's Leadership Principles and Culture.
  • Accountable for the talent strategy (Org/Function), collaborating and co-creating with COEs and guiding execution through OKRs, ensuring the organization is equipped with the right talent, capabilities, culture, and leadership to drive business growth.
  • Works with the People Advisory Team to cultivate Visa's future people leaders and to implement programs (e.g., Annual Review, Talent Planning, etc.).
  • Ensures integration and execution of Visa's values and culture initiatives into processes, advocates for diversity and inclusion, and pinpoints opportunities to enrich culture and experience.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of the organization and its functions. Develops and implements custom strategies to tackle significant people-related challenges.
  • Leads organizational design initiatives to enhance efficiency, ensuring that appropriate interventions are planned, and the impact of changes is considered and effectively managed.
  • Anticipates and supports business and resource planning by monitoring KPIs and translating data into actionable insights.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference for candidates with +15 years' experience operating as Senior People Business Partner managing complex people-related challenges within a global, multinational, matrixed company context.
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Intellectually curious, with a strong desire to constantly learn and understand complex issues and a continuous drive to stay updated with the latest trends in HR and business.
  • Strong ability to make clear, concise, and timely decisions in the best interest of the organization, even in complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to thrive in uncertain situations and adjust strategies and styles according to changing business landscapes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization. They should be credible influencers who can effectively drive change and decision-making through persuasive communication.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex organizational problems is a must. The candidate should be able to break down issues, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions and apply critical thinking evaluate and analyze issues and form judgements.
  • Proven track record in coaching and developing leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Solid understanding of business finance and industry knowledge, including company's products, services, competition, and key financial metrics.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data, draw insights, and make evidence-based decisions and recommendations is crucial.
  • Experience in leading and managing change while maintaining team performance and morale.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $169,600.00 to $273,250.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
