Starting Rate of pay: $ 18.75/hour
Shifts Available and Hours:

6am-6pm 4x4

6pm-6am 4x4

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend all pre-shift safety meetings. Follow all safety rules and practices at all times.
  • Wear all PPE required by the task being performed.
  • Housekeeping: Keep your area clean.
  • Pass forklift certification test.
  • Operate mobile equipment (forklift, skid loader, sweeper, overhead crane).
  • Learn to operate homogenizers.
  • Become proficient on Combi-lift to move logs from cast pit to saw area.
  • When helping on the melting furnaces, accurately weigh furnace charges and become familiar with the "warehouse scrap map" in order to retrieve different scrap alloys.
  • Become familiar with charging scrap metal into furnaces.
  • Learn how to safely remove foreign material (steel wire, bands, cardboard, wood, etc.) from material to be loaded into furnace.
  • Load material into furnaces without damaging furnace refractory.
  • Properly fill out all paperwork.
  • Learn proper procedure for charging furnaces to avoid molten metal Explosions.
  • Become familiar with the process to burn samples on spectrometer and calculate additions for
  • different alloys.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure that shows measurements in feet and inches.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
