Information and Outreach Coordinator

Department: Office of Equity

Full-time, Hybrid

Salary Range: $65,374.40 - $78,000.00/yr

Job Summary

Serves as a liaison between Milwaukee County and the community with a focus on engaging residents and stakeholders in Community Outreach, Resource Connection, Special Events, and other community initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive outreach strategies, fostering meaningful community partnerships, and ensuring that outreach efforts effectively address the needs of Milwaukee County.

Schedule: This position will work a hybrid schedule with occasional evenings and weekends required.

Job Responsibilities



  • Community Outreach, Resource Connection and Special Events - Develop and execute a comprehensive community engagement strategy for outreach and community engagement initiatives, including organizing meetings, forums, and workshops to gather input and share information.
  • Relationship Building - Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local leaders, and stakeholders, while identifying and engaging underrepresented communities to ensure inclusive participation.
  • Coalition Building - Facilitate, support, and coordinate activities associated with county-led We Care Crew Coalition which utilizes Milwaukee County and stakeholder assets to increase access to services, resources, and programs that support residents' needs.
  • Data Collection - Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of engagement activities, using data-driven approaches to continually improve strategies and ensure alignment with Milwaukee County's equity goals.
  • Participate on other assigned special project teams. Design and implement culturally sensitive communication materials and targeted outreach campaigns to educate the public about the Office of Equity and Milwaukee County programs and opportunities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences



  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and a reliable insured vehicle are required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
  • High School Diploma AND five (5) years or more of work experience in Community Outreach, Public Relations or Community Relations OR Associate's degree or higher AND three (3) years or more of work experience in Community Outreach, Public Relations or Community Relations required
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required
