Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Director of Billing Compliance to create a work plan targeting current billing compliance risks.
- Works with Billing Compliance auditors to conduct audits addressing compliance risk areas.
- Creates educational programs for clinicians and staff based on audit observations, focusing on compliance and reducing documentation burdens.
- Engages in interdisciplinary and departmental committees and task forces.
- Presents billing compliance initiatives at Enterprise Wide Billing Compliance Committees.
- Keeps abreast of regulatory updates and communicates changes as needed.
- Enhances professional skills through conferences, seminars, and other educational events.
- Delivers effective customer service supporting Revenue Cycle, Hospital Departments, and clinicians.
- Promotes teamwork within and across departments.
To qualify, you must have:
- Professional Billing Coding certification (CPC, CCS-P)
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 5 years of auditing documentation and CPT coding ICD10 for billing compliance including prior experience at an academic medical center.
- Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to mitigate the billing compliance issue.
- Aptitude in billing compliance, with effective communication skills to present recommendations at meetings where there may be multiple points of views and recommend objective, operational solution(s) to bill compliantly.
- Proficiency and accuracy in both written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail in all aspects of work product.
- Flexibility and ability to accept and incorporate feedback as part of professional career growth.
