Join our team as a Network Engineer
This position is a hybrid or remote role based out of Maple Plain, MN. You must be located in MN.
The Network Engineer is responsible for administering and supporting assigned enterprise network infrastructure systems. This role ensures assigned network infrastructure is functioning at optimum levels while maximizing system availability.

What you'll do:
  • Assume operational responsibility for SD-WAN/LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, telephony, and monitoring systems as assigned
  • Respond quickly to issues affecting the network environment to maintain high availability and uptime
  • Promote standardization across technical environments, driving changes when necessary for architectural improvements, supportability, and reliability
  • Establish strong working relationships with peers and business unit contacts
  • Initiate and maintain customer communication and system documentation as needed
  • Create and maintain documentation on the assigned network environment and support procedures
  • Work effectively with limited direction
  • Work in an after-hours and/or on-call rotation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
What it takes:
  • 3+ years of experience with a Cisco network environment supporting datacenter and corporate-facing router/switch infrastructure
  • Experience with tools to perform packet capturing, network taps, and network analysis
  • Experience with IP Telephony/VoIP, SD-WAN, and Cisco Network Security applications, systems, and hardware
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications preferred
  • Experience with common management and reporting tools such as Solarwinds or Cisco Prime a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and understanding of network management tools and protocols
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical experience including: IP routing, switching, load balancing, fire wall, and advanced network automation techniques/solutions
  • Understanding of network security protocols and best practice implementations
  • Demonstrated history of staying current in field of expertise

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. Work Environment:
Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
