The International Case Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Managing the international patient intake process by accurately capturing international patient registration.
- Collaborating with patient families, payer and International Financial Counselor (IFC) to ensure accurate coverage throughout the care episode.
- Supporting efforts of the Patient Care Team in the development of the plan of care and support obtaining payer approval. Expediting all clinical scheduling and following-up on all referral request according to approvals. Working with case management teams to ensure safe and timely delivery of medications, equipment and supplies to patients
- Working with IMS team to develop Plan of Care (before arrival) & Updated Treatment Plan (while in Boston). Working closely with the embassy advisors to update them about the ongoing treatment of their patients and making sure to obtain approvals for the necessary referrals.
- Working with patient families to assess needs, answer questions and provide educational support.
- Utilizing EPIC notes, SharePoint tracking and other technology as defined, inter-department communications and communications with Embassies and Payers system to optimize individual performance. Completing and maintaining accurate accessible electronic documentation by the department in accordance with hospital standards promptly.
To qualify, you must have:
- High School Diploma / GED required. Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Healthcare or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience working in health care customer or language services or hospitality required.
- Second language strongly preferred. International life experience and experience serving an international clientele in a work environment is preferred
- International life experience and experience serving an international clientele in a work environment preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer/patient services.
- Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement practices and processes.
- Work requires the skills to identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to ensure information si complete and accurate; following up to ensure agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.
- Ability to deliver clear, effective communication via telephone, in written form, email or in person.
