Our Marketing Team

The NPM Marketing team provides strategy and support to National Public Media's sponsorship teams in a dynamic and demanding media environment. We execute B2B marketing strategies to build awareness, understanding and consideration of NPR sponsorship in-market.Led by the VP of Marketing, NPM Marketing collaborates with teams across the country to achieve ambitious revenue goals.We are a fast-paced team with a lofty vision, creative drive and collaborative spirit.

This Role

The Marketing Coordinator role is an entry-level position that supports a full suite of integrated marketing activity and collateral, with a primary focus on communications and content creation. This position reports to the Manager, Marketing & Communications.

This position is hybrid, but candidates must reside within commuting distance of Washington, D.C. or NYC.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support overall Marketing strategies, initiatives and campaigns designed to raise awareness and consideration of NPM sponsorship opportunities among brands, agencies, reporters, and industry thought leaders.
  • Assist in the development and execution of email marketing campaigns by creating engaging content, producing emails, segmenting target audiences, and analyzing campaign performance to optimize future outreach efforts and enhance engagement with B2B partners.
  • In collaboration with members of the Marketing team, write, edit, and distribute a range of external communication materials, including press releases, website articles, and case studies that articulate the value of public media to advertisers and sponsors.
  • Contribute to the production of National Public Media's weekly staff newsletter via content creation and development, email production and performance analysis.
  • Regularly refresh media contact lists to ensure accuracy and effectiveness, enabling timely and targeted outreach to journalists, influencers, and industry publications relevant to our B2B marketing initiatives.
  • Manage NPM LinkedIn channel and engage with audiences to promote NPM sponsorship initiatives and highlight success stories.
  • Assist in planning and executing events - including event targeting and reconnaissance, presentation development, talent coordination, etc. - webinars and promotional campaigns to drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Contribute to ongoing maintenance and optimization of the National Public Media website with a specific focus on content marketing and SEO.
  • Handle day-to-day planning and operation of the chatbot function on the NPM website.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing regular updates and recommendations to the marketing team.

QUALIFICATIONS



  • 1-2 years of work experience in marketing a media, publishing, entertainment or social media brand. Previous experience in B2B marketing and/or communications preferred.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen attention to detail and a strong ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media management and familiarity with digital marketing tools, including Pardot, Salesforce, HTML, SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, Trello, Slack and Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit; able to work well with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of public media and an understanding of its impact on communities is a plus.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

A BA or equivalent degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Management, etc.

WORK LOCATION

Hybrid Permitted: This is a hybrid permitted role. Some aspects of this role include duties that are better performed at an NPM facility. The employee will be required to be onsite at the Washington DC or NYC office at least 10 days a year. The employee must also reside in an NPM-supported location based on the number of onsite days they choose.

JOB TYPE

This is a full-time, exempt position.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: The anticipated salary for this opportunity in the U.S. is $52,000- $54,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPM expects to provide for new hires across all US locations.

Benefits: NPM offers access to comprehensive benefits for employees and dependents. Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week can enroll in NPM's benefits options. Benefits include access to health and wellness, paid time off, and financial well-being. Plan options include medical, dental, vision, life/ accidental death and dismemberment, long-term disability, short-term disability, and voluntary retirement savings for all eligible NPM employees.
