Responsibilities

Seeking an Acquisition Logistician responsible for providing comprehensive logistics support to the entire acquisition lifecycle. This position focuses on pre-Program of Record systems. The incumbent will be planning, developing, implementing, and managing logistics activities to ensure the effective and efficient support of systems throughout their lifecycle. The incumbent will apply knowledge of logistics principles, policies, and procedures to support program objectives.

Responsibilities:

Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:

  • Regularly interface with AFLCMC, AFRL, other services, other Government organizations, FFRDCs, and industry
  • Interact with multiple government and industry partners across the DoD and commercial industry managing contractors in terms of cost, schedule, and performance, to include sustainment.
  • Participate in the development of acquisition strategies, including identifying logistics requirements and impacts with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis to determine the most cost-effective approach to the product/service.
  • Initiate and develop and maintain Logistics Support Plans (LSPs) and other logistics documentation.
  • Perform supportability analyses, including Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analysis, to identify and mitigate potential supportability risks.
  • Identify and analyze the key drivers for the product's supportability.
  • Analyze supply chains.
  • Identify and manage the product's critical performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain the appropriate documentation to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in USAF Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process
  • Prepare, review and process procurement documentation.
  • Manage technical data and documentation, including manuals, drawings, and specifications
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations on logistics activities and performance.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and working groups related to logistics.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and total of 10 years of experience in some form of organizational and/or depot maintenance required
  • Familiar with current Maintenance Information Systems, their data and use.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and the ability to perform day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within various facilities at WPAFB.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15 years of related professional experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.

Even better if you have these desired skills:

  • DAWIA certification in Logistics (Level II, or III)
  • DAWIA certifications in other disciplines, such as PM or Test
  • Flightline logistics experience in aircraft general, propulsion or avionics
  • Deployed maintenance experience
  • Experience working in SAP facilities/programs
  • Acquisition logistics experience with systems or programs.
  • Digital tool knowledge and use (ie. JIRA and Confluence)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.
