General Summary

The Combustion HTT Technician operates a furnace or direct fired heater in response to the client's request. A combustion technician safely and efficiently operates the equipment to maintain the desired output. The combustion process within the confines of the desired area must be controlled while the combustion equipment output changes in response to load demands. Technician set up shall meet basic requirements of combustion control to meet the requirements regulating the quantities of fuel and air while achieving optimum combustion and maintaining safe conditions for operators and equipment. Furnace and remote field setup designs vary as to the function, heating duty, type of fuel and method of introducing combustion air. The technician sets up the furnace, or the confines of the desired area, to create the desired amount of heat in accordance with the proper procedure.

Essential Job Functions

* Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern

* Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM's Core Values and 7 Critical Choices.

* Gathers materials required to fill work orders.

* Sets up the machine, and positions work pieces for processing.

* Makes necessary adjustments and removes scraps from machine.

* Maintains raw material inventory.

* Conducts job walks with certified technicians and communicates requirements.

* Interfaces with clients and co-workers.

* Ensures jobs are completed in a timely manner and according to schedule.

* Instructs Assistant Technicians on the proper set-up/tear-down of equipment; how to perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks.

* Completes calibrations and overall equipment and facilities maintenance.

* Oversees project execution and daily tasks associated with providing industrial maintenance services.

* Completes proper documentation and reports of services provided.

* Learns and abides by combustion procedures.

Job Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Must possess valid Driver's License.

* Previous experience in relevant industry preferred.

* Travel Requirements: 25% - 50%

Work Conditions

* Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere and be able to tolerate climate changes.

* Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.

* Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise.

* Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.

* May be at more than one job site in a day and may be required to travel out of town.

Physical and Mental Requirements

* Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.

* Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties.

* Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities to communicate effectively.

* Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.

* Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.

* Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.

* Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
