Who We Are

Our Analytics & Insights team is dedicated to solving complex healthcare challenges and improving patient outcomes. This team empowers business partners across Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) to make impactful decisions by leveraging data, analytics, and AI/ML to enable fast, targeted actions in rapidly evolving business contexts.

The team fosters a unified understanding of customers, actions, and outcomes by integrating analytics and insights seamlessly into CMG's evolving digital, data, and automation platforms, creating scalable solutions and eliminating silos.

You will work as a trusted, objective advisor and expert, recommending critical decisions and actions to be taken with credibility and a focus on driving measurable impact. This role will report to the Head of Analytics & Insights.

The Opportunity

The Executive Director of 360 Insights & Forecasting Suites is a visionary and entrepreneurial leader who will set the strategic direction of our 360 Insights & Forecasting Portfolios. As a pivotal team member, you will deliver innovative, scalable digital solutions across the enterprise. You'll drive product initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities to maximize business impact. Partnering with end-user activation groups, you'll capture business needs, implement cross-product strategies, and ensure successful product adoption.

  • Define, and be accountable for executing, a strategic roadmap for the 360 Insights & Forecasting Product Suites, establishing and ensuring adherence to business product and technology policies and standards while collaborating with senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Set the strategic direction for the suite of 360 Insights & Forecasting products, aligning with organizational priorities to maximize business impact and deliver innovative, scalable, and usable solutions across the enterprise.

  • Partner across functional teams within Analytics & Insights to produce KPI reporting,dashboards and other business insights products. Drive automated, interactive, self-serve insights platforms with clear business impact.

  • Partner with the therapeutic area (TA) Analytics team to streamline primary and secondary research (e.g., market dynamics, customer needs, patient journey, forecasting, patient flow modeling, market segmentation, brand performance deep dive, competitive intelligence), and prioritize high-impact use cases for product suites.

  • Partner with the Field, Measurement, Medical,and Access & Payer analytics teams to prioritize high-impact use cases for product suites.

  • Partner with the Data Science team and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to supercharge analytics products.

  • Partner with the Informatics (IX) team to define the roadmap and prioritize the development of analytics products.

  • Define and oversee the full lifecycle strategy for the 360 Insights & Forecasting Suites from identifying and integrating new products to sunsetting legacy offerings, optimizing for overall suite performance and evolving marketing and business priorities.

  • Accountable for resource allocation and investments both in the near-term and long-term across the 360 Insights & Forecasting suites of business products; work with other Suite Leads to make resourcing tradeoff decisions across all Analytics product suites.

Adoption Enablement, Experimentation & Performance Optimization

  • Serve as the executive champion for the 360 Insights & Forecasting suites, articulating its strategic value to senior stakeholders, influencing enterprise decision-making, achieving enterprise objectives, communicating value to stakeholders, and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.

  • Partner with relevant Genentech Activation teams in order to develop a structured change management strategy, inclusive of stakeholder engagement, communication plans, and ongoing support.

  • Define hypotheses, design experiments, and conduct tests in collaboration with other IT, analytics, and product teams.

  • Set and track performance and adoption metrics across the business product suite, in partnership with Genentech Activation teams, including regularly reporting on efficiency gains and business impact.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead enterprise-wide and network-wide initiatives to promote cross-product understanding and collect feedback through orchestrated rituals.

  • Collaborate with peers, VP and SVP level leaders across Genentech to align external and internal business requirements, insights, and trends to refine the 360 Insights & Forecasting portfolio strategy & roadmap.

  • Drive CMG cross-functional alignment, collaborating seamlessly with other leaders across Commercial, Medical, Access and Informatics to align business product strategies with business objectives, make necessary tradeoffs, ensure rapid product development, drive adoption, and track progress of the 360 Insights & Forecasting Portfolios.

  • Ensure that 360 Insights & Forecasting business products are developed with an eye towards scaling the capabilities across Roche Pharma globally by working with counterparts in Global Product Strategy, IX, and elsewhere.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, upholding the integrity of Genentech's activities and product stewardship.

  • Partner with internal experts in Legal, Compliance, and Medical Affairs, to mitigate business risks and uphold Genentech's policies and ethical standards; hold teams accountable for adherence to these standards.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, customer experience, or a related field.

  • 12+ years of experience in customer or product-focused roles, with a strong emphasis on forecasting and insights-driven solutions

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in coaching, developing, and inspiring talent

  • Proven ability to own and manage the full product lifecycle, including visioning, roadmap creation, execution, and impact measurement.

  • Understanding of how to design and evolve user & customer-centric experiences to drive customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated success in facilitating cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proven success in building and scaling analytics platforms or products (dashboards, modeling pipelines, tools) and deploying at enterprise level.

  • Deep expertise in commercial analytics, e.g., primary and second research, TA analytics, field analytics, pricing/access.

  • Experience in Medical analytics is a plus.

  • Proven track record of driving change management and user adoption in complex matrixed environments.

  • Extensive experience working with data science, machine learning, and AI teams and supercharge analytics capabilities and impact.

  • Experience working in a standard DevOps agile setting or bringing agile best-practice mentorship to the team

Preferred Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or related graduate-level qualification).

  • Experience with a focus on implementing product strategy, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries

  • Familiarity with industry best practices and benchmarks for customer experience design.

  • This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and relocation benefits are available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $227,500 - $422,500 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
