Corewell Health is pleased to announce our 2025 Summer Immersion Program for nursing students looking to enhance their academic knowledge and further develop their clinical skills through a hands-on experience with a nurse preceptor. The Nurse Extern will be paired up with a Nurse Preceptor for this 10-week program beginning May 19, 2025, working (3) 12-hour shifts per week. Working hours are generally 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. We will offer placements in a variety of clinical specialties at each of our 8 hospital campuses which may include Med/Surg, Progressive Care, Critical Care, and Emergency.
To be considered for this program you must be currently enrolled and attending a BSN or ADN registered nursing program, nationally accredited through either CCNE or ACEN. In addition, you must be graduating Fall/Winter 2025 or Spring 2026. This 10-week immersion program requires a mandatory full-time attendance commitment including any enrichment sessions. Scope of work Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients.
