Clinical Informatics Specialist

Full Time - 1.0 FTE

Day Shift

The Clinical Informatics Specialist, under the guidance of the Manager, Clinical Informatics, is responsible for the analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical information systems that impact the nursing department and users. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is a change agent working with the physicians and other clinical specialties in the design, training and implementation phases of projects, as well as ensuring that appropriate procedures and processes are developed for sustaining the application of new systems and projects. The Clinical Informatics Specialist collaborates with Trinity Hospitals, ITAT committee and the UnityPoint Health System Committees to create and maintain a shared vision and active network of clinical relationships.


Responsibilities
  • Analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates clinical information systems that impact the nursing department and users.
  • Works with the physicians and other clinical specialties in the design, training, and implementation phases of projects.
  • Ensures that appropriate procedures and processes are developed for sustaining the application of new systems and projects.
  • Collaborates with Trinity Hospitals, ITAT committee and the UnityPoint Health System Committees to create and maintain a shared vision and active network of clinical relationships.

Qualifications

Education:

  • RN licensure - IA and IL

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an acute inpatient facility with clinical expertise is strongly preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and curriculum development.
  • Experience in managing several projects and instructional tool development with associate deadlines.
