IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Field Technician in our Peoria, IL office. The Field Technician will be responsible for performing routine tasks as directed by theConstruction Manager. As a first level trainee work is checked by others in process and upon
completion. The Construction Project Manager may assign the technician to a constructionproject to serve as a construction observer to make field measurements, documentationentries and read & interpret plans.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Basic field inspection, testing, and documentation

  • Duties may also include on site or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and hot mixasphalt

  • Attend training to achieve various certifications

  • Operate company vehicles

  • Maintain equipment and vehicles

  • Observe safety and security procedures

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations tocustomers, clients, and other employees of the organization

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using wholenumbers, common fractions, and decimal

  • Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenth

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished inwritten, oral, or diagram form

  • Must be able to work as part of a team

  • Must always maintain professional conduct

  • Valid driver's license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier

  • Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word,Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to travel up to X% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineeringpreferred

  • Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds

  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms,and grasp or pull

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

Salary Range $45,000- 52,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
