Job Summary: With some supervision, the Archivist is responsible for cataloging and maintaining an extensive archival collection of surgical and autopsy materials, including microscopic slides, paraffin blocks, permanent save wet tissue, posterity, and microfilm. This role offers a unique opportunity for you to learn and grow, ensuring a clean, orderly laboratory and archival area. You will also be responsible for delivering materials to specified locations as requested. Individuals must gain knowledge and demonstrate an understanding of reports, descriptions, medical terminology, and database information to handle materials appropriately Shift: 8:30 am -5:00 pm. Education: It requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Coursework in medical terminology and level coursework in computers and database management or equivalent, helpful Licensure/Certifications: None Experience: No previous experience is required (experience in archiving or filing is preferred.) Other related work experience considered Knowledge/Skills: Requires knowledge of database structure and function Ability to type at 20-30 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Excellent organizational skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are required. File archival materials accurately and in numeric order. Manual dexterity in both eye and hand coordination to handle and read small specimens, slides, blocks, containers, and fragile specimens to limit damage. Salary Range: Minimum 16.86 per hour - Maximum 27.84 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
