The Education, Training and Development Trainer is responsible for supporting the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of company initiatives by providing clinical and non-clinical education and training to both clinical and non-clinical team members. The Education, Training and Development Trainer supports initiatives including, but not limited to, patient care workflow redesign, pilot projects, skills competency validation and training, new team member orientation, and expansion of the organization's clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality and care and concern with each internal and external customer
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures
  • Uses, protects, and discloses patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Partners with center and corporate team members to drive the success of the clinic through co-ownership of the clinic's performance results
  • Serves as a resource and consultant to identify and assist with training and development needs
  • Provides initial and ongoing clinical and non-clinical training support for appropriate team members in the clinics
  • Supports and exemplifies core values
  • Participates in the planning, design, implementation, revision and delivery of training curriculum, job aides, resource manuals and skills validation tools
  • Independently develops clinical and non-clinical competencies used for on-the-job training as well as skills validation tools for both new hires during New Team Member Orientation and existing staff during annual competency validation
  • Independently develops and implements remediation tools and programs for learning deficits identified during training
  • Works in collaboration with other departments to develop clinical and non-clinical education sessions
  • Reviews clinic performance reports and identifies areas and/or processes that need improvement and will lead to positively impacting future clinic performance results
  • Independently performs scheduled (and as needed) Annual Clinical Skills Assessments for Nurses and Medical Assistants in the centers, including coaching and needs assessment sessions
  • After each clinic visit that includes a performance assessment, completes an evaluation form and reviews findings with Center leadership
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in new product testing and supports the implementation process, as needed
  • Serves as a subject matter expert with clinic startups, acquisitions, and affiliate support as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare provider and/or ACLS (AHA) or American Red Cross CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with ambulatory information systems
  • 2+ years of experience as a clinical systems trainer or educator



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with practice management, claims management, or electronic health record system
  • Experience training in a healthcare setting



The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
