Job Summary:

Babcock Dairy Plant is recruiting a full-time Dairy Plant Floor Supervisor. The dairy plant produces bottled milk, cheese, and ice cream for sale in the Babcock Dairy Store and at other local retailers. This position is responsible for scheduling production, hiring student employees, monitoring quality control results, preparing orders, interacting with campus wholesale customers, formulating dairy products and reporting equipment maintenance requirements. This position will work with the Plant Manager in assigning tasks, monitoring work, setting work schedules, and other supervisory activities. This position is the first line floor supervisor for the Babcock Hall Dairy Plant.


Responsibilities:
Supervises laboratory staff, and organizes and leads staff meetings, plans and controls lab resources, and ensures the quality assurance of laboratory services to support clear and concise results.

  • 35% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 25% Develops, directs, schedules, and secures resources for operational assignments and special projects in technical areas of laboratory testing
  • 20% Develops, directs, and evaluates laboratory studies, methods, and protocols to ensure quality control, quality assurance, and maintain Standard Operation Procedures (SOP)
  • 10% Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures
  • 5% Participates in professional meetings and conferences
  • 5% Identifies new and applicable techniques and procedures

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Typical hours are 6am-2:30pm weekdays.

The minimum salary for this position is $60,000. Actual salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Additional Information:

-Evaluation/Probationary Period may be required.

-Position requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time.
