Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Learning AI/ML Scientistto join our dynamic engineering team that supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Tests.This team is on the forefront of MDA's move to digital engineering with an aggressive schedule for AI/ML development.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, experience with Python and its scientific computing packages, and a proven track record of building and executing machine learning experiments. This role involves integrating AI/ML solutions into existing systems, contributing to our DevOps practices, and working closely with our development team to innovate and enhance our technology offerings.

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to solve complex problems and enhance product offerings.
• Integrate AI/ML solutions into existing systems to improve performance and capabilities.
• Work closely with the development team to implement best practices in code quality, testing, and maintenance.
• Contribute to the development and optimization of our DevOps pipeline.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and software development.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
• Proven track record of successful project delivery and innovation in the field of machine learning.
• Strong Programming Skills:Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C#/Java, as well as Python 3.x.
• Python Scientific Computing:Experience with Python packages such as Numpy, Matplotlib, Tensorflow, and Pytorch.
• Machine Learning Expertise:Solid understanding of foundational statistics concepts and ML algorithms as well as demonstrated experience in building and executing machine learning experiments, including but not limited to data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• DevOps Frameworks:Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools to ensure efficient deployment and operation of our solutions.
• Interpersonal Skills:Strong interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders across different levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills:

• .NET Development:Experience developing in the .NET Framework or .NET Core environment.
• Communication Skills:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• AI/ML Integration:Experience in implementing and integrating artificial intelligence or machine learning solutions into existing information systems.
• Database Management:Knowledge of relational databases, including schema design and SQL.
• Containerization Technologies:Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, and their role in development and deployment processes.
