CDI Engineering Solutions is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries. Position Summary The Senior Process/Project Engineer will be responsible for executing mid to large capital projects and troubleshooting complex processes independently. These tasks may be performed individually or as part of a team. The Senior Process/Project Engineer may also lead a smaller group of junior engineers and manage other resources to complete projects/requests as needed. Responsibilities Provided Recommendations to resolve plant-specific problems while aligning with business needs. Review and prepare comprehensive process design packages, including heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives, equipment sizing, and material selection for proposed changes and projects. Lead the development of control strategies and review control narratives. Firm understanding on which industry standards and codes are relevant to assign task. Participate in PHA/HAZOP and collaborate with Safety and Environmental teams. Provide technical support during project start-up and commissioning. Mentor junior engineers May need to act as a lead engineer for a small team of engineers or serve as project manager for medium to larger projects. May be responsible for supervising junior engineers. Serve as a liaison between engineering and other company department Work effectively within a multidisciplinary group to complete projects. Monitor project status, addressing schedules, budgets, and work quality through corrective actions. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to troubleshoot medium to large process issues, working with subject matter experts on complex process and design challenges. Present process improvement opportunities or status updates to senior management. Demonstrate technical knowledge of SNF processes, acting as a technical expert on specific items. Identify and pursue continuous process improvement ideas. Identify Risk associated with a project and be able to identify solutions to retrack project. Work with senior staff to keep projects and assignments on track. Continuously develop process knowledge for multiple processes, establishing credibility within SNF. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering). 7-15 years of related experience in engineering design of chemical plants, including hands-on troubleshooting experience. (Preferably experience in RMP and PSM environments.) Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals. Working knowledge of relevant codes and equipment used in the chemical industry. Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, including ability to communicate complex technical issues concisely/effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Analytical thinking skills, including ability to analyze and interpret large data sets. Self-motivated and results-oriented individual. Ability to work independently and as a team. Comfortable with moderate travel (25%). Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).
