Job Title: Workforce Development Support Specialist Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL Job Summary: The Workforce Development Support Specialist will provide critical support to the Workforce Development (WFD) Branch at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). This role involves managing and enhancing the development programs for the workforce, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and facilitating various training and educational initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Program Management:
- Assist the Panama City Division University (PCDU) Program Manager in managing the NSWC Panama City's Mentoring Program and other workforce development systems.
- Support strategic planning and workforce shaping by gathering data and assisting with special projects.
- Training Coordination:
- Schedule and manage events and sessions for PCDU virtual and in-person training, including managing rosters, wait lists, and producing necessary reports.
- Provide "how-to" guidance on Waypoints, Total Workforce Management System (TWMS), and the Human Capital Center website.
- Monitor mandatory training requirements, report on delinquent statuses, and update training records using Waypoints and TWMS.
- Support and Analysis:
- Offer guidance and assistance in updating employee transcripts and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Conduct annual organizational Needs Assessments to identify training demands based on employee IDPs, business plans, and organizational strategies.
- Collect, analyze, and report on course evaluations and surveys.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Participate in NAVSEA HQ sponsored Waypoints Tag-Up meetings or equivalent.
- Maintain document control for New-Hire Onboarding processes on HR SharePoint sites and Waypoints.
- Schedule and support sessions for Supervisor Training Programs, including managing rosters and uploading training materials to relevant platforms.
- Data Management:
- Utilize various systems for data entry and report generation, including TWMS, Waypoints, and other local government systems.
- Maintain and update the Employee No-Show spreadsheet to monitor attendance trends.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in human resources or workforce development is advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a related role, with experience in workforce development, training coordination, or HR.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Teams, and Tableau.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Navy or DoD administrative protocols and systems like Waypoints and TWMS.
- Familiarity with strategic workforce planning and development strategies.
