Position Title: Special Security Programs Support Specialist

Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL

Job Summary: The Special Security Programs Support Specialiast is tasked with managing operations related to a Navy Telecommunications center and supporting communication security (COMSEC) activities at NSWC PCD. This role requires handling classified information up to the TOP SECRET level.

Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Communications Center Operations: Manage the daily operations of the communications center, including the transmission, receipt, processing, and distribution of organizational message traffic.

  
  
• 
  

  COMSEC Support: Act as a COMSEC Clerk, performing duties such as inventory management, clerical tasks, and ensuring compliance with NSWCPCDINST 2280.4D guidelines.

  
  
• 
  

  Security Protocols: Maintain procedural manuals, perform daily security checks, and manage access to COMSEC materials.

  
  
• 
  

  Equipment and Software Management: Operate and maintain communications equipment, ensure software licenses are current, and conduct bi-annual equipment audits.

  Training and Briefing: Provide or coordinate mandatory training for personnel with access to COMSEC materials, tracking completion.

  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in communications or security operations preferred.

  
  
• 
  

  At least 2 years of experience in a security or telecommunications operations role.

  
  
• 
  

  Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.

  
  
• 
  

  Proficient in handling and securing classified information.

  
  

Preferred Skills:

• 
  

  Experience with Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and other DoD communication systems.

  
  
• 
  

  Familiarity with COMSEC practices and procedures.
