Position Title: Property Inventory Support Specialist

Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Inventory Support Specialist to provide comprehensive support for inventory management at NSWC PCD. The role involves managing, documenting, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory records for Operating Materials and Supply (OM&S) and General Equipment (GE).

Responsibilities:




  • Inventory Management: Provide support to the NSWC PCD Inventory Accuracy Officer in conducting OM&S and GE inventory spot checks, audit inventories, and cycle inventories as required.



  • Database Management: Add new asset records to the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) database. This includes updating records to reflect property transfers, changes in building numbers, and custodian organizational codes.



  • Documentation and Reporting:




    • Maintain a filing system for all asset transactions throughout their lifecycle.



    • Create and print barcode labels for new or transferred assets.



    • Maintain electronic logs for barcode issuance and recapture.





  • Customer Support:




    • Assist customers in researching items and generating reports.



    • Support the process of excessing property and validating property records for personnel checking out of NSWC PCD.





  • Asset Validation:




    • Conduct physical inventory checks to ensure assets match the property accountability records in terms of location, description, and condition.



    • Support in determining property values by preparing Fair Market Value Worksheets.





  • Compliance and Record Keeping:




    • Prepare updates for NSWCPCDINST 5200.1 Plant, Property, and Equipment Policies and Procedures for Government approval.



    • Update and maintain the NSWC asset management web page.





  • Daily Operations:




    • Regularly visit buildings and custodians to support in barcoding and recording information on plant and minor property when requested.



    • Respond to inquiries within 24 hours, ensuring clear identification as a contractor in all communications.






Qualifications:




  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, inventory management, or related fields is advantageous.



  • Experience:




    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a governmental or military setting.



    • Proficient in using inventory management systems, with specific experience with NERP being highly desirable.





  • Skills:




    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).



    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.



    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.



    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with various levels of technical, scientific, and management personnel.





  • Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain or have access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).




Preferred Skills:




  • Familiarity with Navy or DoD administrative protocols and documentation standards.



  • Experience with government-specific software systems or databases.




Work Environment:




  • Work will be conducted primarily at NSWC PCD facilities.



  • The role involves physical tasks such as visiting different locations within the facility for inventory checks.




Physical Requirements:




  • Ability to lift and move equipment or materials up to 25 pounds as needed for inventory tasks.
