Job Title: Physical and Antiterrorism Security Support Specialist

Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL

Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Physical and Antiterrorism Security Support Specialists at NSWC PCD. This role involves providing critical support to the Physical Security, Antiterrorism, and Emergency Management programs, ensuring compliance with security protocols and enhancing the safety and security of the facility.

Responsibilities:




  • Security Surveys: Conduct physical security and antiterrorism surveys of buildings and areas using established checklists to assess adherence to required security standards. Document findings and report to the Physical Security Officer.



  • Record Maintenance: Daily management of physical security checks and logs, including the use of SF 701 "Activity Security Checklist" and SF 702 "Security Container Check Sheet," as well as maintaining equipment inventory and visitor logs.



  • Access Control Systems: Operate and manage Automated Entry Control Systems (AECS) workstations and supplementary NSWC PCD badge systems to create, edit, and delete access credentials, badges, and related records.



  • Key and Badge Management: Assist with tracking, issuing, and managing controlled keys and badges.



  • Loss Prevention: Support the Loss Prevention Program by tracking lost, missing, or stolen property, analyzing trends, and providing metrics and recommendations to the Physical Security Officer.



  • Emergency Management: Participate in the preparation, review, and revision of emergency action plans and disaster preparedness standard operating procedures, including annual updates and coordination during actual and exercise scenarios.



  • Training Compliance: Enroll in and complete necessary FEMA Independent Study courses within 90 days of employment (IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-230.e, IS-235.c, IS-700.b, IS-800.d) to ensure preparedness in emergency management roles.




Qualifications:




  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in security management or related field is advantageous.



  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in security-related roles, preferably in physical or antiterrorism security within government or similar settings.



  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and familiarity with government security systems and databases.



  • Clearance and Certification: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance; knowledge of handling classified information up to SECRET level.



  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and report security findings accurately.




Preferred Skills:




  • Navy or DoD Experience: Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) security protocols, physical security measures, and antiterrorism policies.



  • Database Management: Experience with tracking systems or software used for security management or asset control.



  • Emergency Response: Prior involvement in emergency management or response teams.
