Summary
This position is a dynamic, growth-oriented opportunity to participate in the rapidly evolving, technology-oriented market of high-powered laser diodes. We are looking for a highly motivated sales professional who is eager to bridge across all facets of a leading high technology company to support our key diode customers. Additionally, this position will interact regularly with senior and executive management.
Functions
- Lead and grow key sales accounts, as measured by customer satisfaction indicators, market share, revenue, and profit.
- Employ best-in-class large account management practices, managing relationships, tactical and strategic initiatives through customer, Distributor and internal meetings.
- Lead cross functional account teams to qualify new opportunities, to mature opportunities through sales funnel, and execute on won business
- Partner with Product Management to define roadmap, technical specifications based on industry vision, customer needs, market trends, and technological advances.
- Drive effective forecasting, pricing, specification documentation, supply agreement, & post sales support.
- Drive account business reviews at executive level communication, KPIs, dashboard
- Identify and manage risks - escalate issues, establish mitigation actions, and drive to resolution to protect our customer's and business interests
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other industry events
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies. Advanced technical/ business degrees preferred.
- 3+ years in technical roles (development, process, product, quality engineering) required, preferably related to semiconductors or similar high precision technologies.
- 2+ years of customer facing account or sales experience with progressive responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and situational skills with our global and diverse customer base
- Proficient at aligning technical needs of customers with nLIGHT functional capabilities to comprehensively support delivering Quality and robust solutions
- Strong critical thinker, proficient problem solving skills using structured methodologies (e.g. 8D)
- Strong passion for product experience enabling succinct communication between our highly technical customers & internal teams
- Experience using ERP and/or CRM systems, data analytics
- Ability to lead in matrix organization with assertive management skills
- Support sales related business process continuous improvement, and ISO compliance
- Prior experience in developing and manufacturing volume high precision hardware or knowledge of DFM, six sigma, lean a bonus
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, estimated < 20%

Pay rate is based on qualifications:
- Key Account Manager: $100,000 - $130,000 annually
