THE ROLE:
As a Manager of Firmware Engineering, you will own the coordination and delivery of all the Firmware deliverables for AMD GPUs and Graphics embedded solution-based systems. Under the guidance of the team Manager and as part of the Graphics initialization team, you lead a team of FW developers across many levels and geographies.
THE PERSON:
The right candidate will demonstrate very strong knowledge and proven experience managing technical teams. This includes strong people management skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels. Extensive experience in project planning with focus on resource allocation, prioritization and optimization of processes is also necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with regional leads on project planning and assignment
  • Lead/assist in recruitment including defining job descriptions and negotiate with recruitment and contractor supplier for candidates, selecting and co-assigning interview panels for candidates and onboarding
  • Manage and guide team members by overseeing and driving mentoring, training, ongoing career development, performance reviews and goals setting
  • Prepare and publish staging plans and status reports
  • Manage response to sizing requests including the planning and implementation of LRP allocations according to the roadmap
  • Deploy resources in an orderly and effective manner in tune with changing priorities
  • Coordinate product performance optimization and execute on matrix reorganization
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Multiple year's experience in dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Software Development or Engineering based organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience and people management experience
  • Familiarity with the Semiconductor industry, especially the various functions of graphics firmware, UEFI and platform hardware
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Masters or bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or management
