The Manager of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Automation will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the front end of our RCM team. Your primary focus will be on optimizing revenue cycle processes, managing a team of RCM professionals, and driving financial performance. Teams reporting to the Manager include eligibility, error processing, medical records, patient billing and payer portal access. This role requires a deep understanding of revenue cycle management in the diagnostics industry and the ability to identify opportunities for continued enhancement of revenue capture and automation. Candidates within commuting distance of the Brisbane, California office will need to come to the office on a regular basis; remote candidates will work and collaborate from home. Travel to the Brisbane, California office may occasionally be required. Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Provide strategic input & leadership guidance to the RCM team, ensuring a high-performance culture and fostering professional growth.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the RCM function, including workload management, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
- Set clear objectives, performance goals, and support development for team members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and mentor individuals to promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure high levels of patient service, including timely responses, empathetic interactions and responsiveness to internal customers who serve patients..
- Revenue Cycle Optimization:
- Evaluate and improve revenue cycle processes to ensure billing accuracy, reduce denials, and optimize reimbursement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve performance.
- Leverage revenue cycle management systems and technologies to enhance automation, efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure teammates through the Revenue Cycle team have access to necessary payer portals to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of payer interactions and electronic transactions.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, billing guidelines, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and reimbursement methodologies, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Assist with month-end and SOX control reporting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to align revenue cycle goals with organizational objectives.
- Act as a liaison between the RCM team and other departments, fostering effective communication and strong relationships.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding revenue cycle performance, opportunities, and risks.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred or related years of experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in revenue cycle management systems & technologies, with at least 3 years in a people manager role.
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement practices, including government and commercial payers, specifically within the diagnostics industry.
- Technical depth in at least two of the following areas:
- Telcor System Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Telcor billing system or similar revenue cycle management software. Experience with system configurations is most helpful.
- Eligibility and Error Processing: Ensuring systems handle standard transactions and manual work is limited to exceptions.
- Medical Records: Proven track record in managing requests and processing of medical records, including use of EMR systems.
- Analytics & Internal Initiatives: Proficiency in leveraging data analytics tools and methodologies, including Excel, to identify revenue cycle trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams, driving performance & internal initiatives, and achieving DSO improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally with teams and senior leadership.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity while balancing multiple priorities.
- Experience with Telcor, Xifin or Quadex systems preferred.
