About the role We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst in Corporate FP&A to help produce consolidated financial budgets and forecasts, perform variance analysis, analyze and track KPIs, and conduct other ad-hoc analysis to support the business. In conjunction with other Corporate FP&A team members, this position is also responsible for developing and implementing a monthly forecast process, the annual budget process and consolidation and preparation of executive management and board presentations. A collaborative team player with proactive communication and attention to detail are key requirements for this position. This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, Texas. About the team Auctane's Finance team is responsible for driving key strategic initiatives, generating insights into business performance, and leading financial decisions across the Company. We partner with Senior Management and business unit leaders by providing effective decision-making support to drive long-term business performance. We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support management in effectively understanding and managing the performance of the business. This role will help provide strategic and tactical support to facilitate management reporting, assist the budgeting / forecasting process, and communicate targets as well as develop drivers-based financial models. A collaborative team player with proactive communication and attention to detail are key requirements for this position. What will you be doing?
- Developing consistent and accurate reporting and improving consolidated reporting processes
- Build and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting purposes
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically about business problems while helping craft the story around the business
- Review and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports
- Create ad-hoc financial models and analysis to support specific project or initiatives
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial models to enhance their accuracy and usefulness
- Interfacing with Finance & Accounting team members with timely and accurate reporting from financial systems
- Driving accurate and timely month-end close reporting and supporting the close process
- Helping implement a monthly forecasting process, annual budget process and planning tool for the company
- Subject matter expert on the reporting/planning tool
- Partner with rest of Finance team on forecast expectations and understanding variances
- Ad-hoc reporting to support management and board related questions
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Three to five years of work experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst or similar role, preferably in a corporate finance or investment banking environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
- Experience working with Google Suite, including Slides, Docs, and Sheets
- Self-motivated, mission-driven, team player, that embraces problem-solving and enthusiastic to learn and grow
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex financial ideas and analysis to non-finance stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and drive actionable recommendations
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and identify innovative solutions to complex problems while exercising sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all work
- Experience working with large datasets and financial systems such as Anaplan
