Job Summary

Enterprise Information Services (EIS) is the organization responsible for information technology at The Aerospace Corporation. The General Manager for Business EIS is responsible for leading this organization, reporting to the company's Chief Information Officer. In this role, you will be on the corporation's senior leadership team and accountable for sustaining, enhancing, and evolving all corporate IT operations, including production IT services across multiple unclassified and classified networks. You will work closely with corporate leadership to define and implement company and division goals. You will partner with corporate information security leadership (CISO) to ensure that systems are secure and comply with all relevant standards. You will support the corporation's business IT needs in concert with the leadership from enterprise services organizations such as Facilities, Security and Safety, People Operations, Finance, and Corporate Communications. You will also partner with the company's engineering and program groups and the Mission Council, which develops requirements and sets priorities for the company's mission-specific needs to support its customers. You will work with Finance partners to manage Aerospace's IT budget and ensure that spending meets targets each year. You will also work with third-party contractor partners that provide operational IT services such as operating the Service Desk, end-user computing support, infrastructure maintenance, and purchasing.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA, which requires 100% onsite work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Sustain and evolve all corporate information technology services, including more than 300 production services, that support different aspects of the business and mission, at all Aerospace operating locations, across multiple unclassified and classified networks.
  • Manage a staff of 175+ employees providing IT engineering and operations.
  • Leverage a staff of 100+ contractors providing support for contractually defined bodies of operational work.
  • Partner with the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) to ensure appropriate cybersecurity for all IT services and compliance with all relevant standards.
  • In partnership with the Finance, manage the corporation's information $100M/year operational and capital information technology budget and ensure cost-effective service delivery while supporting targeted investments that drive differentiating value.
  • Work with business and mission stakeholders to develop strategies and tactics to satisfy corporate strategic and tactical goals.
  • Sustain and improve the company's IT operations capabilities, including defining processes and metrics that can be used to drive quantitative and qualitative improvements in outcomes.

What You Need to be Successful - EIS General Manager

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Ten or more years of experience with IT services, operations, infrastructure, information security, applications, development, support, and/or processes with at least five years of senior leadership experience and oversight of personnel and budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategy in high-consequence, high-complexity situations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large, technical organization
  • Demonstrated experience leading information technology operations
  • Ability to partner to support innovation in a highly technical environment while operating with high cybersecurity in a regulated industry
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Advanced degree (Masters, Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, cybersecurity-related certifications)
  • Experience with information technology in Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), defense contracting, or other regulated industries
  • Experience with emerging and advanced information technology trends (e.g., DevOps, artificial intelligence/machine learning/"AI ops", infrastructure-as-code)

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$280,000 - $315,000 Pay Basis: Annual
