PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $25.67-$31.30 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.11-$37.07 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Collection & Recovery Support Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting BECU's Collection & Recovery Management team. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions, safeguarding the financial health of the organization, and providing exceptional support to both internal and external stakeholders. Imagine yourself driving meaningful change by handling essential account processes and enabling better financial outcomes for members. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support Transactional Excellence: Process a variety of financial transactions across deposit accounts, loans, and credit cards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage Account Status Changes: Perform system updates and maintenance to transition accounts from active to charge-off status, including terminating memberships when necessary.
  • Handle Account Closures: Process system maintenance and documentation for involuntary closures of revolving and deposit accounts with care and precision.
  • Execute Loan Modifications: Facilitate loan modifications in partnership with Bankruptcy, Loss Management, or the Member Assistant Department to support members during challenging times.
  • Oversee Debt Management Plans: Process and follow up on external debt management program requests and related correspondence to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Balance Financial Records: Monitor applicable general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to the Accounting department.
  • Protect Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when managing sensitive member and employee information.
  • Deliver Stellar Support: Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries while maintaining a courteous and approachable demeanor.
  • Resolve Exceptions: Research and resolve exception transactions and address out-of-balance conditions to maintain operational integrity.
  • Manage Department Communication: Process incoming mail daily and monitor the department's email inbox for timely responses and follow-up.
  • Adapt and Contribute: Take on additional duties as assigned, showcasing your flexibility and commitment to the team's success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of servicing and operational, experience at a financial institution.
  • Verbal and written skills for effective communication and customer service.
  • Full-time availability with flexibility for additional hours as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in collections, insurance, lending products, bankruptcy, or garnishments.
  • Attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretionary judgment, and sound decision-making.
  • Capability to meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
