We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Bolun Xu and Prof. Dan Esposito on the modeling, optimization, and scheduling of electrochemical processes for the conversion of CO and water into liquid hydrocarbon fuels. The postdoctoral researcher will focus on dynamic process optimization, control strategies, and simulation-based design.

The postdoctoral researcher will also be affiliated with the Columbia Electrochemical Energy Center (CEEC) which provides a collaborative platform for students and researchers looking to expand their horizons in electrochemical energy technology and translate that knowledge into impactful careers in academia, national labs, or industry.   • PhD in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.



  • Strong background in optimization, optimal control, and dynamic systems modeling.



  • Experience in electrochemical process modeling is strongly preferred.



  • Familiarity with software tools like MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar for process simulation and control.



  • Proven ability to conduct independent research and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.



  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
