JOB SUMMARY: Candidate must be a graduate of the Pope Francis Scholarship Program with COMPASS at Catholic Charities. The COMPASS Community Liaison works with the Program Manager to ensure that the member-driven, community and partnership expectations of the model are executed and upheld. The Community Liaison is primarily responsible for developing partnerships with schools, building relationships with community-based organizations, creating, and managing the high school initiative and supervising the Friends of Compass Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Work closely with the Program Manager and other team leads to support and advance the COMPASS model.
  • Identify, facilitate, and maintain relationships with COMPASS collaborators working within Ward 7 and 8.
  • Manage a caseload of 3-5 COMPASS Members.
  • Manage all school - COMPASS collaborations. Design and pilot the COMPASS High School initiative.
  • Manage and maintain the FRIENDS of COMPASS Program.
  • Assist with facilitating group meetings as needed, encouraging relationship-building and support amongst COMPASS members through the discussion of goal achievement.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:



  • Master of Social Work licensed in the District of Columbia (LGSW).
  • Graduate of the Pope Francis Scholarship Program with COMPASS at Catholic Charities.
  • 2 years of social work experience.
  • Experience supporting the COMPASS Community Committee preferred.
  • Driving/access to transport is required. If driving, must have a valid local license and a clean driving record.


SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:



  • Leadership skills. Interpersonal skills.
  • Skill to operate job-related equipment including the use of computer systems (MS Office products), including Excel, Outlook, Credible and remote access.
