Our grocery store formats include Coborn's, Cash Wise, Marketplace Foods, Hornbacher's, Tadych's Marketplace Foods, and Sullivan's Foods and we offer unique online grocery home delivery services through our CobornsDelivers and Cash Wise Delivers locations.

Coborn's, Inc. also owns and operates liquor stores under the Coborn's Liquor, Cash Wise Liquor, Andy's Liquor and Captain Jack's brands. Additionally, our fuel and convenience division, pharmacy, in-house grocery warehouse and distribution center, in-house Central Bakery, in-house Fresh Foods Commissary, and Tops Cleaners are significant assets to our operations. We also have a handful of other retail entities in the markets where the fit is right: Little Dukes, Ace Hardware, Country Floral Gifts & Greenhouse, Caribou Coffee, Dunn Bros Coffee, and Erbert and Gerbert's.

As our Learning and Development Business Partner, you will use your learning and development skillset to help design, deliver, and enhance training that will not only help our business thrive but also help our employees become their most remarkable selves.

As you join our team, you will partner with the Retail Operations team to develop engaging, innovative training materials, workshops, and e-learning that will help us drive sales and execution. Coborn's is a company of 9,500+ employees and is planning for future growth, so our team will also be looking for your partnership to identify future training opportunities and requirements for new training requests.

Additional Duties Include:

L&D Business Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with the Operations team to foster collaboration and engagement with L&D initiatives. Regularly check in to evaluate the success of current training, identify future training opportunities that will support the business, and define requirements for the required training.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new L&D training requests. Responsible for documenting and following up on all requests promptly.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all training, both regulatory and non-regulatory, by periodically following up with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure content is up to date and in compliance.
  • Strengthen the organization's succession plans by supporting the Director of Operations team with individualized learning plans for high-potential employees.
  • Periodically visit company locations to gain feedback about L&D initiatives and learn about any beneficial training needs that can support business operations.

Instructional Program Design

  • Design courses and materials for a variety of training programs, including eLearning modules, workshops, and job aids.
  • Create instructional materials that are high quality and ensure they are engaging, relevant, and aligned with business needs.

Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track the status of non-negotiable employee training. Regularly follow up with leaders about outstanding non-negotiable training and actively monitor the completion status.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance assessments.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for job-specific training deliverables. Initiate the periodic review by Subject Matter Experts to ensure it is up-to-date and comprehensive of all job duties.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in learning and development
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering learning programs.

SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and email systems.
  • Working knowledge of database systems preferred.
