LABELER OPERATOR - MID SHIFT - LINE 1

  • General Purpose:

    Operates the Krones Labelers, Video Jett Coder and all related functions

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:



    • Oversees the entire label applications process to include jar coding, sample collection, setup adjustments and related equipment, i.e. Glue dispenser, Video Jet Coder, Dud Detectors, Bar Code Scanner, Film setup, Krones and PDC panel view functions and conveyor systems.
    • Ensures that the correct label stock and film labels are being used.
    • Performs various quality control tests.
    • Records and maintains data and checks.
    • Completes detailed production and breakdown documentation.
    • Obtains all necessary samples of products.
    • Maintains an organized jar label rack and ensures all partial boxes are properly tagged.
    • Communicates change-over information to relief operators and shift change operator.
    • Investigates problems with label application and makes corrective adjustments when necessary.
    • Ensures that labels receive the proper amount of glue and are properly placed on the jar.
    • Informs Shift Supervisor of any issues with label application.
    • Maintains label basket cleanliness.
    • Monitors and isolates all product deviations.
    • Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.
    • Sanitizes machines and conveyors during the change-over/shutdown process.
    • Maintains a clean and organized work area, including spills and breaks as they occur.
    • Ensures that supplies are fully stocked at termination of shift.
    • Utilize scanners or thin client units to make SAP transaction for the purpose of maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability.
    • Assist in training new operator.
    • Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.
    • Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.


  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • Shift Schedule - Monday - Friday 1230pm - 830pm - Monday - Friday
  • Weekends possible based on Product Demand
  • $18.50/ Hour
  • .50/Hour Shift Differential on Shifts beginning at 2pm or Later
  • 90 Day Increase to $22.66/Hour

    • Holidays & Personal Time Eligible at 90 Days

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience



  • High School Diploma or GED


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in writing & speech (English)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be able to attain a Forklift Operator License within 30 days of hiring.
