Purpose

This Senior MBA Recruitment & Admissions Officer position will assist with talent acquisition activities for the Houston MBA program at Texas McCombs. This role will report to the Director of MBA Recruitment & Admissions for Working Professional & Executive MBA Programs and assist in leading and enhancing the recruiting strategy to attract, recruit, evaluate and yield strong candidates to the Houston MBA program at Texas McCombs

Responsibilities

  • Conduct applicant interviews, file review, and yield activities. Conduct individualized counseling, outreach, and follow up for all prospect/applicants. Evaluate Houston MBA candidates in the Houston area as needed.
  • Represent the Texas MBA at Houston Program in all metro area recruiting activities. Lead information sessions, company visits, and special events. Engage in activities to increase program awareness and candidate pipeline. Lead and support company and community organization outreach in the Houston Area. Participate in Executive and Full Time MBA recruiting activities in the Houston Area. Ensure adequate representation of students and alumni at all information sessions and special events.
  • Manage Texas MBA at Houston class profile based on goals set by Director of MBA Admissions and MBA leadership team.
  • Actively engage with prospective students on the Texas MBA at Houston campus class weekends during the semester.
  • Select/Train/Manage McCombs Admissions Committee (i.e. volunteer 1st and 2nd year MBAs that assist in the admissions process by attending events, blogging and referring candidates) for the Texas MBA at Houston program. Engage with students on the Texas MBA at Houston campus during the semester to build rapport.
  • Work with Director and Admissions Marketing Team to develop and evaluate effectiveness of local recruiting strategies marketing plans for the Texas MBA at Houston and Executive MBA programs: print and radio advertising campaign, online and social media campaign, sponsorships, and company targeted efforts.
  • Perform special projects for the Director as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in talent acquisition activities (recruiting, evaluation, admission, etc) or 1 year with a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Strong technical skills. Excellent diplomacy skills to handle complex situations with multiple stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively.
  • Proficiency with software and comfort learning new technologies.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Working knowledge of graduate management education and/or MBA programs.
  • Experience managing user-facing technology applications including Salesforce.
  • Experience working in an environment making strategic decisions.
  • Experience managing and supervising a team.
  • Experience working with a wide range of peers, faculty, administrative personnel, and graduate students.
Salary Range
  • $60,000 - $65,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
  • Works in standard office conditions, in a shared office environment.
  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak periods and special events.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
