THIS IS FOR A FUTURE OPENING SYSTEM SPECIALIST OFFICE OF HEAD START TRAINING & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE-REGION IV
The System Specialist (SS) has significant knowledge in Local, State, and Regional Early Childhood Systems to support our Head Start Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) team in Region 4. The System Specialist (SS) participates in Regional teams to identify cross-system coordination between the Office of Child Care (OCC), the Office of Head Start (OHS), Head Start Associations, and State Preschool/Public Education Systems within the Region.

Provides subject matter expertise, consultation, and resources to RO and TTA staff to improve coordination opportunities across state and federal early childhood care and education systems that impact HS service delivery.
Coordinates with partners such as Head Start Associations, Head Start State Collaboration Offices, Departments of Education to improve state and local coordination efforts, promotes collaboration with local education agencies, and addresses cross-cutting challenges affecting Head Start children and families.
Aggregates and analyzes regional data related to HS collaboration with state and federal early childhood development and education systems, local education agencies, and other local, state, and regional partners to identify cross-system coordination and collaboration issues.
Participates in Regional-level meetings with Head Start State Collaboration Office (HSSCO) Directors, state Child Care administrators and other state-level early childhood systems partners, as directed by the RO.
Required Skills
Ability to utilize resources, research and available technology to appropriately provide guidance to staff, parents and partners regarding early childhood issues from the Early Childhood Learning and Knowledge Center (ECLKC), National Centers and other Office of Head Start national resources.
Familiarity with theImproving School Readiness for Head Start Act of 2007, Head Start and Early Head Start Programs, OHS Monitoring Protocols and processes, and knowledge ofHead Start Program Performance Standards and Other Regulations as they apply to all facets of cross-system coordination.
Required Experience
A minimum of a BA or a BS, with a preference for a master's degree, from an accredited university or college in management, communication, education leadership or administration, early childhood education, child development or related degree. If the highest degree was awarded more than ten years ago, the resume should be specific regarding such events as courses, conferences, seminars attended or work experience.
A minimum of five years of experience with at least three years with the provision of technical assistance and consultation to Head Start and/or state and federal early childhood development, education, or human service systems.
Demonstrated ability to review, aggregate, analyze, and create relevant data reports from multiple sources, including experience in data-driven decision making.
Intermediate to advanced level experience with recent versions of Microsoft Suite, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer; ability to use current webinar technology and audio conferencing. Familiarity with Smart Sheets preferred.
