POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Control Inspector will ensure that the manufacturing of finished goods and components conform to all processes and standards.

CORE FUNCTIONS



  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment; address any unsafe conditions or behaviors with a supervisor
  • Ensure that the manufacturing of finished goods and components conform to all processes and standards
  • Responsible for control and disposition of Non-Conforming Products
  • Aid in the inspection of First Article and production materials
  • Work with manufacturing personnel during the production process
  • Ensure assembled products are correct and functional
  • Conduct in-line inspections
  • Provide support and documentation required to maintain ISO certification
  • Present non-conformities to required personnel in a professional manner
  • Interface with manufacturing floor personnel to teach and train quality or other product related issues
  • Inspire, motivate, and lead others in utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools to deliver results
  • Organize material at work station and department according to 6S standards
  • Perform other related and non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training



QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or general education degree required.
  • Quality Assurance, Lean, and ISO experience preferred
  • Read and understand manufacturing prints and measuring equipment
  • Software experience: Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, ERP Software

  • Skilled in metrology.
  • Skilled in auditing.
  • Skilled in inspecting.
  • Ability to safely operate a Forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • This position is subject to Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing.


Visual Acuity



  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.


Working Conditions



  • The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
