Account Manager, Pharmacy

HealthPartners is hiring a Pharmacy Account Manager. The Pharmacy Account Manager serves as the primary relationship manager for employer accounts. This role involves working directly with employer groups to optimize drug spend, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and initiatives. The incumbent is expected to have a deep understanding of pharmacy market dynamics and the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry to manage client relationships effectively. The role includes partnering with Sales and Account teams to create and maintain strategic and operational service plans to ensure client retention. It also involves analyzing customer drug utilization data to develop and present compelling value proposition stories.

The Pharmacy Account Manager will collaborate with pharmacy team members to develop, train, and implement pharmacy product materials and educational support for sales and account management. This position also plays a key role in creating forward-facing content for sales, brokers, and clients, and drives content production for new business proposals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or related field OR a minimum of five years of experience in pharmacy claims processing, benefits, and management.
    Proven success and active working knowledge of pharmacy benefits, PBM, and drug trends.
  • At least three years of experience in a pharmacy or PBM account management role with direct client management responsibilities, or in a consulting role with similar objectives.
  • Minimum of two years of general healthcare experience in a customer service-oriented environment with a demonstrated understanding of healthcare and the HMO industry.

  • Strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Proficiency in leading both in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at various organizational levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to develop well-reasoned solutions.
  • Self-directed and motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and related tools.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • MBA or Master's in Healthcare Administration.


  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or state health insurance producer license.


  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • HealthPartners pharmacy and/or account management experience.
  • Previous PBM or health plan account management or sales experience.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Account Management (70%)



  • Partners with customers, Sales teams, and other leaders to develop and execute customer-specific strategic and operational plans to ensure retention.
  • Provides ownership of pharmacy-related content and materials relevant to client needs.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of customer data and benefit designs to recommend improvements and promote HealthPartners pharmacy products and services.
  • Collaborates with Sales teams on renewal strategies.
  • Advocates for customer needs within operational teams to ensure customer goals are achieved.
  • Provides daily support to account teams for pharmacy and medical drug management programs.
  • Maintains strong industry knowledge and apply it to customer consultations and relationships.


2. Sales Support (15%)



  • Partners with leaders to execute strategic plans for growth.
  • Assists with specific pharmacy-related requests from prospects, including data analysis and presentations.
  • Drafts and finalize Request for Proposal (RFP) responses that highlight HealthPartners' capabilities and industry expertise.


3. Product Promotion and Support (15%)



  • Collaborates with product teams to gather market insights and represent customer needs.
  • Develops messaging to promote the value of HealthPartners' drug management programs.
  • Participates in the evaluation and prioritization of initiatives for development and enhancement.
  • Ensures effective communication plans, selling strategies, and value performance tools are implemented as part of the product development process.
