The Director of Relationship Managers is responsible for overseeing a team of Relationship Managers who are building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This leader provides guidance and support to Relationship Managers, ensuring they meet their goal of providing excellent client service, including the full complement of banking and financial services, such as deposit and investment strategies and management, as well residential mortgages, business lines of credit, and commercial and multi-family loans. The Director of Relationship Managers also works closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies to enhance client relationships and drive business growth. They will also be involved in client acquisition and retention efforts, as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a seamless client experience. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role.

What you will be doing:

  • Culture: Work and build relationships with internal partners from all lines of business within the bank to foster an environment of collaboration and transparency, with superior client service as the common goal.

  • Take initiative, and act entrepreneurially to grow the bank's business actively and responsibly.

  • Growth: Acquire clients by networking within our communities, and professional service and real estate firms, to build relationships and a referral network to provide superior service to help clients achieve their financial objectives.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of private banking professionals focused on client service and bank growth. Relationship Managers should:

  • Be service oriented: Be the single point of contact for client and run point on all inquiries and requests, ensuring they are handled in a timely manner while providing outstanding service to build long lasting relationship and gather referrals.

  • Actively grow deposits, using credit facilities to attract private banking clientele.

  • Possess a deep understanding of credit, underwriting, pricing, risk, and treasury management products.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of local real estate markets, rates, and current economic trends.

  • Marketing: Align with local associations, networking groups, and Centers of Influence to market the bank and the team. Attend events and functions where high net worth individuals and professional services are the target audience.

  • Management/Operations: Ensure that all team members have the necessary tools, training, and knowledge to support existing clients, and grow new business.

  • Provide regular feedback and guidance to Relationship Managers to assist in their growth.

  • Interact with senior and executive leaders as needed to accomplish department and bank objectives.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year institute highly preferred. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 5 years of leadership experience is required.

  • 10 years of Relationship Manager, Wealth or relevant experience is required.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, the general public and professional peers. A solid understanding of business and banking terminology.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to business related situations. Basic understanding of accounting, including financial statement and credit analysis skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Demonstrated negotiation skills.

  • Ability to create new word processing and spreadsheet files using generally accepted formats. Ability to use data base programs and other banking specific programs and to access reports. Ability to use software documentation and help features. Aptitude for learning advanced features and specialized software programs.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients, loan requests, deadlines and other priorities.

  • Utilizes critical and creative thinking skills

  • Ability to lead a team.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to influence others. Customer/client orientation.

  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills. *

Salary: $155,000-260,000 annually

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
