The Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Talent Management who will make a meaningful impact by advancing our global talent framework, including talent development and performance management while driving the alignment and evolution of our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to attract, engage, and retain high performing talent and strengthen QuidelOrtho's reputation as an employer of choice. This person will lead and transform global talent management processes by designing and implementing key pillars such as individual growth planning, goal setting, talent reviews and succession planning.

The Senior Manager of Talent Management will ensure QuidelOrtho fosters a culture of continuous development and improvement, aligned with our Core Behaviors and EVP. He/she will collaborate closely with our CHRO, HR Business Partners, cross-functional teams and regional talent leads to establish and scale global best-practices and processes aligned with our long-term strategic objectives. Responsibilities will encompass the entire employee lifecycle continuum, including culture, employer brand positioning, performance management, strategic workforce planning, and the development of top talent. Additionally, he/she will monitor progress against key metrics and provide hands-on support for critical initiatives.

Location: Preferred candidates to be based at our HQ in Summers Ridge, San Diego, CA. Hybrid work arrangements will be considered.

The Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction of talent management roadmap, including a globally consistent experience for performance management, talent assessment, succession planning, and development for all employee levels, including executive leadership.

  • Design dashboards and regularly track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) related to talent management inclusive of development, succession planning, and employee engagement, reporting insights to leadership.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and regional HR leads to ensure talent management strategies align with business needs and incorporate regional feedback and needs.

  • Work alongside the Head of Talent and the HRLT to transform performance assessment frameworks, ensuring they support career growth and development aligned with organizational goals.

  • Serve as the operational owner of key talent systems (e.g., Workday), ensuring data integrity, system functionality and troubleshooting.

  • Build organizational capability by sharing insights, consulting with internal stakeholders, and benchmarking best practices and conducting internal assessments.

  • Drive the talent roadmap to promote QuidelOrtho's EVP to ensure alignment with organizational goals, culture, and employee feedback and engagement.

  • Collaborate with regional HR teams to ensure the EVP resonates globally while being adaptable to local market nuances and cultural differences.

  • Partner with internal teams and key stakeholders, particularly Marketing Communications, to develop and execute EVP campaigns that enhance the overall employee experience, promote career development, and attract top talent, reinforcing QuidelOrtho's brand as an employer of choice.

  • Create resources, templates and toolkits to support regional teams in implementing talent initiatives.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Key Stakeholders
  • Internal Customers: HR Business Partners, Regional Talent Leads, HR Technology and Innovation, Senior Leadership Teams, Marketing, and cross-functional collaborators. Including Center of Excellences and SMEs in L&D, Org Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards.

  • External Customers: Vendors, consultants, and industry experts.

The Individual

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 7 years of combined experience in talent management and human resources required, with experience leading EVP, Talent Roadmap and Talent Management initiatives strongly preferred.

  • Global experience working in a heavily matrixed environment is required. Medical Device & Diagnostics, Healthcare, or manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Expertise in aligning goal-setting frameworks and talent strategies with organizational objectives is required.

  • Experience leveraging HR technology tools like Workday to support talent management, goal setting, and succession planning is required.

  • Prior HRBP or L&D experience is a plus - specifically launching, learning, training programs focused on accelerating top talent/high potential development.

  • Ability to present to key stakeholders at C-suite level and senior management, influence and thought leadership to aid in change management is required.

  • Hands-on experience with developing and facilitating talent workshops, as needed, including calibration sessions and leading development planning is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies is required; PMP certification is a plus.

  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including domestic and global travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed in an office setting, onsite or from a home office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials. 20% travel required, including domestic and global. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
