Empath Health is currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) to join our team.

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) serves as an internal consultant and single point of contact providing HR support to a division, multiple service lines, multiple Corporate Support Functions, large sites or a combination of these departments or geographies. The SHRBP provides oversight to other HR support roles and collaborates with the subject matter experts within the HR department, as necessary. The SHRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to leadership and colleagues that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The SHRBP consults with Empath Health leaders on all projects, key initiatives, change initiatives, colleague relations matters, conducts investigations, and consults on all business-related activities of the department, meets with departmental leadership on a regular basis and tracks and shares key HR metrics as appropriate. The SHRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its key strategic imperatives, its culture and its competition.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business units and shares key HR metrics impacting the department.
  • Serves as member of departmental project team on all key projects and initiatives always focused on impact to colleagues.
  • Consults with departmental leadership providing HR guidance as appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with departmental leadership and the HR department to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex colleague relations issues.
  • Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of colleagues, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with leadership and colleagues to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation and change management expertise.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs and partners with ODL regarding training delivery.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist, HR Subject Matter Expert or a combination of other related education and work experience. Hospice, Home Health, or Healthcare experience desirable.
  • Prior supervisory experience desirable.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compliance, recruiting, compensation practices, benefits, organizational diagnosis, colleague relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
