Senior Accountant

Summary:

The role of the Senior Accountant is to coordinate and review all accounting functions and financial statements in a timely fashion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Generate daily cash and other periodic management reports
  • Responsible for the integrity of general ledgers.
  • Coordinates the completion of the balance sheet account analysis
  • Reviews variance analysis.
  • Assists in controlling expenditures and streamlines the data processing support required during month-end.
  • Evaluates subsidiary journals for obvious errors and omissions and enters corrected data into the general ledger. Performs all tasks associated with the general ledger (e.g: enters monthly journal entries, executes monthly closing entries, executes month-end general ledger.)
  • Reviews monthly balance sheet and profit-and-loss statements
  • Coordinates monthly closing and production of financial statements to guarantee timely reporting
  • Reviews, redesigns, and enhances the financial statements to ensure that the information reported properly reflects the company's financial position
  • Assists in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures
  • Reviews and documents present accounting practices and procedures.
  • Assists outside auditors at year-end to include preparing schedules, invoices, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data
  • Provides support on various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Education: BS in Accounting

Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant general ledger and financial analysis experience

Previous experience in Great Plains Software, preferred

Process improvement experience a plus
