Engineer Technician

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

The Engineering Technician holds the primary responsibility of supporting multiple prototyping, test and manufacturing engineering efforts, including process development, installation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of an array of products, all aimed at achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

Compensation & Benefits:



  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Engineer Technician: $65,000 - $95,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.


Engineer Technician Responsibilities Include:



  • Provides engineering support, reviews and responds to technical inquires; reviews and approves cost analysis.
  • Researches and reads specifications to determine application.
  • Interacts with customers to get technical information about their product line.
  • Interacts with supervisors and management to resolve problems and production issues.
  • Perform time studies and labor hour estimations based on predetermined time standards.
  • Interprets engineering and technical information to production line workers.
  • Reviews and creates AutoCAD drawings.
  • Constructs form boards for building wire harness assemblies.
  • Reviews and defines bills of material for new products as well as existing.
  • Responsible for creating machine files for wire marking, printing and identification equipment.
  • Generates and reviews change requests such as Engineering Change Request and Supplier Information.
  • Generates process instructions- Manufacturing Process Instructions and Traveler documents.
  • Ensures that correct configuration is maintained on the production line.
  • Takes care to maintain all production support documents, files, tools, etc.
  • Support all safety rules, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Engineer Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Engineers should have a minimum of three years of experience and engineering technicians shall have a minimum of ten years of experience in the manufacture of equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of manufacturing process and concepts, in either electrical/electronic or metal working and assembly concepts, principles and practices acquired through prior extensive and diversified technical work experience or through course of study is required. In the area of electrical system and printed wiring manufacture, also required is a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing concepts, principles and practices including but not limited to analog and digital systems/components, printed circuit card design/manufacture, power distribution/loading.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with and knowledge of manufacturing requirements and processes as they pertain to prototyping, production, repair and overhaul of Aircraft Platform Interface (API) systems, equipment and components is required. Knowledge and experience with advancements in manufacturing technology is required.
  • Shall demonstrate the ability to analyze how these advancements might impact API equipment manufacturing and proposed design improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, design and development, and technical descriptions.
  • Ability to effectively lead and direct others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, production standards and efficiency optimization tools; process oriented.
  • Knowledge of various software applications: database, design, inventory, and Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources, people, and projects.
  • Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines, have a defined sense of urgency as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; telephone skills; patience.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
