Waste Connections is currently seeking an experienced Internal IT Technician to provide technical support to our field. The successful candidate will be based inthe Greater Houston Texas areaand will be responsible for delivering timely and effective technical support services to our internal customers.

We have an opening in our Woodlands, TX office for an IT Technician supporting all of our regions. This position will be responsible for responding to and resolving a wide variety of system related issues using helpdesk incident management software in order to enhance end user productivity. The Technician will install, configure, or maintain core WCI software applications, deploy new software releases and patches, setup new PCs and assist with telecom projects. Technician will also assist with management of billing software based on SQL databases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networking
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office Suite PC and Laptop hardware configuration and troubleshooting
  • Maintain phone systems at multiple locations
  • Microsoft windows end user configuration (profiles, printers, application configuration)
  • Cisco router installation and configuration
  • iPad, iPhone and Android cell phone configuration, troubleshooting, and repair

Minimum Requirements:

  • Coverage of Support call center and Support Ticket systems
  • Possible remote support of local sites or projects if required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least four of the following areas:
    • Windows 10,11
    • WYSE Winterms
    • Citrix Server Environment
    • Windows Server 2019 / 2022
    • Phone systems
    • Microsoft SQL databases
    • Cisco routers / General Networking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2 years or more of Network Administration
  • Experience working with Microsoft OS and Office Applications
  • Independent worker with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
