Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
This Library Building Operations Security Assistant
position secures library property, buildings, and ensures that faculty, staff, students, and guests are safe. This position will initiate emergency procedures when appropriate and assist with the implementation of procedures.
This position will:
- Conduct foot patrols of buildings and grounds
- Open, secure, and close the buildings.
- Understand and enforce UNCW and library policy and procedures
- Collect building usage statistics, monitor doors for card access, assist with facility needs, including event set up, furniture reset, monitoring of facility issues
- Serve as responder for building fire alarms, facilities disasters, and medical emergencies
- Assist guests and visitors with directions and information
- Facilitate the reporting of facility-related problems or emergencies
- Provide access to spaces as needed and perform any other related duties that may be required
In addition to other Library Building Operations staff, this person works with student work assistants to perform the duties of their position. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require valid N.C. driver's license. |
