This role is a supporting function of the Holland Assembly Operations group.The primary scope of the role includes both daily production support and assembly process continuous improvement.

General Responsibilities:



  • Creation & maintenance of operator work instructions in Visual Factory Software
  • Create & implement standard work to drive consistency in processes
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing productivity utilizing time studies & creating playbooks to yield well-balanced work cells
  • Ability to lead Continuous Improvement Events (Kaizens)
  • Daily operations support - production floor presence with drive to "remove operator struggles"
  • Ability to generate and maintain PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) - assigning quality risk levels to each step in a process
  • Work cross-functionally to support quality system improvements, i.e. best build practices & error proofing
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods by analyzing and planning work force utilization, space requirements and workflow
  • Collaborate with management, engineers and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other items to facilitate effective production processes
  • Coordinate implementation of product design changes into production
  • Collaborate with planning and design staff regarding product design and necessary tooling for efficient production and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency using AutoCAD
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of manufacturing equipment
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
  • Analyze manufacturing capacity to support production requirements
  • Partners with maintenance, designers, and external vendors to design and build tooling and fixtures needed to support manufacturing



Required Experience and Education:



  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic CAD capability
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands on capability
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering OR related field
  • Entry - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and 8 wastes
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on MS Excel
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence in high mix assembly operation preferred
  • SAP experience preferred

Required Physical Demands:



  • Mustregularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly required tostand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to walk, talk and hear



Environmental Exposures:



  • Occasionally works in outside weather conditions to test products or walk between buildings. Noise level has potential of exceeding 85 dba. Hearing protection is provided



Safety Requirements:



  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection


Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $77,200 - 115,800 Annualized

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
