Summary of Job Duties:Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of patients based on licensure, title and competencies. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Integrates theory and research into clinical practice. Provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards. Promotion is based on years of experience, satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.

  • Valid RN License.

  • Minimum of 1-year Registered Nursing experience.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong work ethics and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements Plan of Care (POC) with an interdisciplinary and patient- and family-centered approach.

  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Documents care appropriately in the medical record.

  • Reports variances in care, systems, or processes through the appropriate channels.

  • Participates in Performance Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), and Research processes.

  • Acts as a resource/support to others in the performance of their duties.

  • Demonstrates commitment to the personal and professional development of other UAMS employees.

  • Participates in recruitment and retention of staff.

  • Facilitates the development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practice standards in compliance with ANA standards.

  • Participates in unit/department-based organizational activities or committees, such as the Professional Nursing Organization (PNO).

  • Demonstrates commitment to professional nursing, development, and growth.

  • Evaluates personal performance based on professional practice standards.

  • Uses constructive feedback to improve practice and performance.

  • Maintains clinical competencies specific to the area of practice/responsibility.

  • Delivers nursing care according to standards defined by UAMS, ANA, AR State Board of Nursing (ASBN), and specialty organizations.

  • Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others according to UAMS standards.

  • Develops the patient's Plan of Care (POC) following department/unit standards, utilizing assessment data.

  • Evaluates the progress of patients toward achieving desired outcomes.

  • Administers medication according to department/unit standards and the Nurse Practice Act.

  • Verifies and evaluates care to ensure alignment with patient- and family-centered care principles, practice standards, and regulatory requirements.
