The Pharmacy Market Access Coordinator is someone who has experience and is driven to help grow and develop the department and organization's access to medications, payers, and resources. They assist the Director and other department leaders with daily activities as well long-term strategy. They will be responsible for obtaining limited distribution drug access, manufacturer portfolio reviews, analyzing pharmaceutical industry drug pipelines, assisting with payer networks for retail, specialty, infusion, and mail order contracts. In addition, they will work closely with industry partners for patient and department resources as it relates to education, training, financial assistance, and other supportive services. This individual must effectively communicate across all levels of the organization while attending required meetings, conferences, and other applicable events. They must maintain positive relationship with third parties while developing business plans to execute and maintain market access for pharmacy operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy OR Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
2. Must possess current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in West Virginia or be license eligible. Licensure must be completed within 90 days of hire. If licensure is not obtained within 90 days of start date, associate will be notified that they will be released form their employment.

EXPERIENCE:
1. PGY-1 residency or PGY-2 residency completion OR
2. Two years' experience in Specialty Pharmacy OR
3. Two years' experience in Ambulatory Pharmacy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
2. Certified Specialty Pharmacist
3. Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Healthcare Administration

EXPERIENCE:

1. Two years' experience in Specialty Pharmacy or Home Infusion Pharmacy

2. Two years' experience in leadership role
3. Two years' experience in Pharmaceutical Industry OR Health Plan role

1. Develop and maintain a market access strategy for the department and organization
2. Advise the Director and other department leaders on market access related issues and landscape
3. Monitor and analyze the pharmaceutical industry pipeline for therapeutic agents as applicable to the health system's needs
4. Present market access goals and milestones to the Director and other department leaders as needed
5. Identify growth opportunities to help leaders streamline budgetary planning and resource needs
6. Align organizational strategy and goals with department strategy through market access insights and analysis
7. Coordinate with industry and payer representatives through live and virtual meetings on a regular basis and as needed
8. Provide clinical and operational support through obtaining available third-party resources vital to patient care
9. Seek out partnerships and opportunities with payer networks and plan sponsors as applicable to the department's scope and strategy
10. Coordinate with the organization's health plan leaders and human resources personnel to adjust and monitor the pharmacy's medication portfolio and service locations
11. Facilitates decision-making processes regarding payer formularies and coordinates with applicable department leaders for team awareness
12. Collaborates with outcomes research coordinator, Director, and department leaders to engage pharmaceutical industry partners and payers with data driven analytics to secure access
13. Coordinate with Director, department leaders, and marketing and sales colleagues to create awareness and capture opportunity within the health system and externally when applicable
14. Assist Director, department leaders, compliance coordinator, and other organizational personnel with payer contracting and network compliance
15. Maintain departmental and organizational level records of payers and medications for transparency and awareness
16. Delivers effective communication and coordinates with other pharmacy staff members when planning and organizing in-service opportunities
17. Attends required and applicable conferences as well other meetings outside of the organization as needed
18. Attends and is an active member of pharmacy and therapeutic meetings as well as other formulary decision meetings within the organization
19. Maintains competency through relevant continuing education and other applicable training/certifications related to market access in the pharmaceutical and payer industries
20. Other duties as assigned
