Position Overview

By Light is seeking a motivated Materials and Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our warehouse facilities across three By Light properties located within a 6-mile radius. The role involves supervising material control activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, and compliance with government property requirements. A personal vehicle (POV) is required for travel between sites. This position also requires hands-on leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence in a high-mix manufacturing environment.



Responsibilities

    Supervise material control operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials in compliance with company and government standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and quality teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet production demands.
  • Conduct routine audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory to ensure data accuracy.
  • Train, develop, and mentor warehouse team members, fostering adherence to safety and operational protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR and contractual requirements for government-furnished equipment (GFE) and contractor-acquired property (CAP).
  • Monitor logistics for inbound and outbound materials to align with production schedules.
  • Utilize MRP systems and barcode scanners to manage and track materials effectively.
  • Enforce warehouse safety standards and ensure proper handling of all materials.
  • Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency and streamline warehouse processes.
  • Support emergency material availability needs and adapt to changing priorities as required.
  • Perform additional material control duties, such as data entry, order picking, and shipping documentation.
  • Cell phone is required for this position.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in material control or supply chain supervisor role in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate M.S. Excel skills.
  • Experience working with MRP systems.
  • Ability to work while standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends with minimal notice.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in material control or supply chain supervisor role in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Deltek CostPoint MRP system.


Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Must be capable of becoming forklift and reach lift certified


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time
