By joining SFFCU as a Summer intern, you will gain the following:
* In-depth knowledge and ability to read and interpret balance sheets, cash flows, and income statement results.
* Gain real research and analysis experience in portfolio management, including financial statements, collateral, and other key items that affect liquidity and credit risk.
* Exploration of core system reporting capabilities.
* Understanding the finance team's monthly financial processes to identify efficiencies.
* Experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and financial industry research.
* Participation in financial analysis and the creation of documents and slides for business proposals.

Who We Are Looking For:

o Juniors or seniors with degree focus on accounting, finance, or economics courses with a graduation date of August 2025 or later.

o Proficient in use of Microsoft applications such as EXCEL, WORD, ACCESS, and POWERPOINT. Knowledge of ODBC SQL queries or query languages being a plus.
o Demonstrates strong judgment in decision making and problem-solving skills.
o Leverages high degree of resourcefulness and initiative.
o Proficient in utilizing a collaborative approach to gather critical information, validate assumptions, and confirm accurate results.

Preferred qualifications include:
o Current or planned CPA designation.
o Basic knowledge of accounting principles, standards and techniques, and ability to decipher financial situations and results.

Internship Program Eligibility:

• To be eligible for the summer internship program, you must be a full-time student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate program throughout the duration of the internship.

What You Can Expect:

• Summer Internship Dates: 5/19/2025-8/1/2025
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
• Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
• Pay: $22.00/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend (minus applicable taxes)!
• Work Arrangement:
• HYBRID: Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
• Selected interns must reside within the continental U.S. for the duration of the summer internship.
• Hub Location(s): Bloomington, IL; Dunwoody, GA; Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ
